Dudhsagar Falls Goa Travel Guide: How to Reach, Timings, Costs, and More
Hello, guys! Viswa here, Welcome back to another tale of my travel adventures! Today, I’m here to share my unforgettable journey to the majestic Dudhsagar Falls Goa, a paradise for waterfall lovers. After spending five amazing days exploring Goa’s beaches & forts, we thought of exploring something different. That’s when the idea of visiting this iconic waterfall struck us. But here’s the twist: we had absolutely no clue how to get there! Ready to chase waterfalls? Here’s everything you need to know to plan your trip to Dudhsagar Falls, from how to get there to the best travel packages in Goa!
My Journey to Dudhsagar Falls Goa
Like any modern-day traveller, we turned to YouTube & many blogs for guidance, and after watching a couple of videos & reading blogs, we got enough ideas and were convinced to visit this the next day. Without much planning, we decided to make it happen the very next day.
As we were staying in North Goa, so we started our journey from Calangute early in the morning, at 6:30 AM to be precise. Dudhsagar Falls is about 83 km away, and our google navigation app estimated it would take us around 2 hrs to reach. The drive itself was refreshing, with the cool morning breeze and the excitement of an adventure ahead.
After covering almost 65 km, we arrived at a small village called Kulem. It turns out this is the last point where private vehicles are allowed. From there, we had two options to reach the falls: a 23 km trek through the lush forest or a thrilling jungle safari ride. Considering the trek’s distance, we opted for the safari ride – a decision that promised equal parts thrill and convenience.
Booking tickets for the safari had to be done online, and after showing our booking ID at a counter, we were assigned a vehicle. The cost? ₹1860 for three of us, shared with four other travellers. With everyone strapped into the jeep, our adventure began!

Barely 500 metres into the ride, we reach a forest checkpost where we had to pay an entry fee of ₹100 per person. After completing the formalities, we were officially ready to venture into the heart of the wilderness. What awaited us next was nothing short of magical…

And so, our adventure began! As the vehicle moved, we found ourselves passing through lush green forests, sparkling water streams, and dense wilderness that added to the thrill of the journey. After a scenic 45-minute ride, we reached the point where vehicles halt. From there, the real adventure began—a 30-minute trek that took us through gurgling water streams, slippery rocks, and wooden bridges. Every step brought us closer to the mesmerising sight we’d been dreaming about.

Finally, there it was—the iconic Dudhsagar Falls in all its glory! The cascading white waters, surrounded by greenery and mist, left us speechless. Visiting this magnificent waterfall was truly a dream come true, and I couldn’t help but capture some stunning photographs to relive the moment forever.

Best Time to Visit Dudhsagar Falls
The best time to visit Dudhsagar Falls is during the monsoon and post-monsoon months (June to October). This is when the waterfall is at its peak flow, creating a breathtaking sight.
- Monsoon (June-August): Be prepared for heavy rains and muddy trails. Trekking can be tricky, but the falls are in full force.
- Post-Monsoon (September-November): The weather is more pleasant, and the falls are still magnificent. My favourite time.
- Avoid visiting during summer, as the flow reduces significantly.
